Optic 3 NewsDate: 6-Mar-2006 ATAS GL has made some changes to the OPTIC 3 universal high performance GC injector, to extend its application range. Both hardware and software are improved. - An upgrade to Evolution version 1.4 is available now. New features include:
Solvent venting category added to the method parameters list Method upper range values for 'End Time', 'ISO Time', 'Transfer Time' and 'Vent Time' parameters are changed from 7200 to 28000 sec. Method lower range from Cryotrap Low Temperature is changed from -150°C to -200°C
- The standard injector body can now be heated with a maximum ramp rate of 30°C/sec up to 600°C. This ramp rate is needed in many fast GC applications and is also very useful for the injector pryolysis.
- A new special injector body for ¼" liners (¼" OD x 3-12" long tubes) is now available. These liners are often used for gas sampling applications (thermal desorption). With the new injector, the ¼" liners can be used fo injector thermal desorption allowing direct transfer of the sample onto the column without any intermediate transfer line thus minimising the sample loss. The automated liner exchanger (LINEX) from ATAS GL can also be used in combination with the ¼" injector.
- New versions of the OPTIC 3 control software (Evolution Workstation) and firmware are available from April this year. It is now possible to select between the column flow and the injector pressure control. The evolution's user interface is also changed to make it simpler and more user-friendly.
