LINEX - Second Generation DTD
|
|
DescriptionLINEX is a unique approach to direct thermal desorption GC, or DTD-GC. With LINEX, the head of the OPTIC injector is opened, the liner containing the sample is introduced and the head is closed. The liner is purged with carrier gas, heated and analysis is started. The advantages of LINEX are that only one injector is needed, the absence of a heated transfer line and a gas flow rate suitable at optimum GC column conditions. Possible users of the DTD - GC - (MS) system are: solid samples, enriched gaseous samples and samples with a difficult (DMI). The use of the newly developed LINer EXchanging system combined with a XYZ sampling robot is an ideal approach for the fully automated DTD - GC - MS analysis of solid and enriched samples. After insertion of a µ-vial it is also very powerful for the analysis of samples with a difficult matrix and samples that need derivatisation before analysis. The possibility of loading over 100 samples in the sampling tray of the XYZ robot make the system both robust and user-friendly. - Injection can be done with the automatic head closed
- Uses standard OPTIC liners
- No liner transport adapter required
- Uses standard 11mm septa and is compatible with the Merlin Microseal
- Easy to switch from normal liquid injections to LINEX
- Based on the OPTIC 3 with ramp rate up to 25°C/second
- Can be used on any GC
- DMI permits the analysis of trace containments in a wide range of different matrices
- Little, if any, sample preparation is required
- Can be automated by Focus / CombiPAL
- Selective desorption of components of interest without pyrolyzing of the matrix
- Low consumable costs
- Can be used as alternative for pyrolyzing
